Home lab & servers
Proxmox, three TrueNAS boxes and an Ubuntu server — my playground for testing, breaking and rebuilding infrastructure.
- Proxmox
- TrueNAS
- Ubuntu Server
- Self-hosting
- Local LLMs
I love running my own servers. The home lab is where I test ideas before they go anywhere near production, and where I play with whatever infrastructure catches my eye.
Right now it's a Proxmox virtualisation host, three TrueNAS storage servers and an Ubuntu server. Storage started out on OpenMediaVault; I've since moved everything to TrueNAS.
Currently on the bench: Colibrì, an open-source inference engine written in pure C that runs huge Mixture-of-Experts language models on consumer hardware by streaming expert weights from disk, RAM and VRAM as one memory hierarchy. I'm testing it on the local Ubuntu server.
